By Rosie Anstey F.G.Int.P.T. – Luxury Wedding Celebrant & Toastmaster in Cyprus & the UK

Love doesn’t recognise borders, cultures or languages. Every year, I have the privilege of performing wedding ceremonies for couples whose lives have been shaped by different countries, traditions, faiths, and family histories. These are some of the most rewarding ceremonies I create because they celebrate not only two people falling in love, but two families becoming one.
A multicultural wedding ceremony should never feel like a collection of separate traditions placed side by side. It should feel effortless, elegant and deeply personal – a ceremony where every guest feels included and every family feels respected.
That is exactly what I create.
Every Ceremony Begins With Your Story
Before I write a single word, I take time to get to know you.
I want to understand how you met, what makes your relationship unique, and what has brought you to this moment. Just as importantly, I want to learn about your families, your heritage, and the traditions that have shaped your lives.
Perhaps one of you grew up in England while the other was raised in Cyprus. Maybe your family comes from Turkish, Greek, Indian, Italian, African, Middle Eastern, or Eastern European backgrounds. You may share the same faith or come from completely different religious traditions.
Every couple is different.
Rather than seeing these differences as challenges, I see them as the most beautiful parts of your story.
Honouring Families With Care And Respect
A wedding is never just about two people.
It is also about the parents who raised you, the grandparents whose stories shaped your family, and the generations whose traditions have travelled with them across countries and continents.
When I write your ceremony, I carefully consider how to acknowledge those family connections in a way that feels genuine and meaningful.
Sometimes that might include a blessing from a parent.
Sometimes it may involve incorporating a traditional reading or family ritual.
Sometimes it is simply finding the right words to recognise loved ones who are no longer with us but whose presence is deeply felt.
Every element has a purpose.
Creating One Seamless Ceremony
One of the greatest compliments I receive is when guests tell me that the ceremony flowed so naturally they didn’t even realise how many different traditions had been woven together.
That is always my aim.
Rather than moving abruptly from one custom to another, I carefully introduce each element so everyone understands its significance.
Whether we include symbolic rituals, music, family blessings, cultural traditions, or bilingual readings, each moment becomes part of one beautiful love story.
Nothing feels forced.
Nothing feels like an afterthought.
Everything belongs.

Celebrating Different Faiths
Many of my couples come from different religious backgrounds or have families with varying beliefs.
This requires sensitivity, understanding, and balance.
Some couples choose to include prayers or blessings from both faiths.
Others prefer a non-religious ceremony while respectfully acknowledging their family’s beliefs and traditions.
There is no right or wrong approach.
My role is to listen carefully and create a ceremony that reflects your values while ensuring every guest feels welcomed and respected.
Including More Than One Language
Language has a wonderful way of connecting generations.
A simple welcome, blessing or reading spoken in a parent’s first language can be incredibly moving.
Where appropriate, I help couples incorporate bilingual elements so that everyone present feels included.
Whether your guests speak English, Turkish, Greek, or another language, the ceremony should remain warm, engaging, and easy to follow.
The goal is never to divide your guests into different groups.
The goal is to bring everyone together.
Every Ceremony Is Written Exclusively For You
One thing you’ll never receive from me is a template.
I don’t believe your wedding deserves copied wording or a ceremony that could belong to another couple.
Every ceremony I write begins with a blank page.
Your story.
Your personalities.
Your families.
Your traditions.
Your sense of humour.
Your dreams for the future.
These are the ingredients that shape every paragraph, every promise, and every moment of your ceremony.
When your guests leave, I want them to say, “That was so completely them.”

Luxury Is Found In The Details
A truly memorable ceremony is about far more than beautiful words.
It is about timing.
It is about understanding family dynamics.
It is about making nervous couples feel relaxed.
It is about knowing when to pause for laughter and when to allow emotion to breathe.
It is about guiding everyone through the ceremony with warmth, confidence, and professionalism.
These are the details that transform a ceremony into an experience your guests will remember for years.
Bringing Cultures Together In Cyprus And Beyond
As a professional wedding celebrant and toastmaster, I have the honour of working with couples from all over the world.
Whether I am conducting a destination wedding in the sunshine of Cyprus or leading a ceremony in the UK, I love bringing together different cultures, languages and traditions with warmth, elegance and authenticity.
Every wedding teaches me something new, and every couple inspires me in different ways.
No two ceremonies are ever alike.
Your Love Story Deserves More Than A Template
Your wedding ceremony is one of the few moments when every person you love is gathered in one place.
It deserves to feel extraordinary.
It deserves to tell your story with warmth, joy, and sincerity.
Most of all, it should feel as though it could belong to no one else.
If you’re planning a multicultural wedding and would like a ceremony that beautifully reflects your families, traditions and personalities, I would be honoured to help create a celebration that feels uniquely yours.
Together, we’ll create a ceremony that brings cultures together, celebrates your journey and gives your guests a memory they’ll treasure long after your wedding day has ended.
Why I Absolutely Love Multicultural Weddings
If I had to choose a favourite type of wedding, it would be a multicultural celebration.
There is something incredibly special about watching two families, often from different countries, cultures, faiths, and traditions, come together as one. I love discovering customs passed down through generations, learning what matters most to each family, and finding thoughtful ways to weave those traditions into a ceremony that feels completely natural.
No two multicultural weddings are ever the same, and that is exactly why I love creating them. Every couple teaches me something new. Every family has its own story, and every ceremony becomes a wonderful reflection of the people standing before me.
One of the greatest privileges of my work is seeing grandparents smile as they hear a familiar blessing, parents become emotional as a treasured family tradition is honoured, and guests experience customs they may never have seen before. Those moments of understanding, connection, and joy are what make multicultural ceremonies so unforgettable.
For me, these ceremonies are about far more than celebrating differences. They are about celebrating love, family, respect, and the beautiful life that two people are creating together.
A Seamless Wedding Day – From Beginning to End
One of the things that makes my service unique is that my role doesn’t have to end when your ceremony finishes.
Many of my couples choose to have me remain with them throughout the day as their professional Master of Ceremonies and Wedding Host. It means the same familiar face who has guided you through one of the most emotional moments of your lives is also there to ensure the rest of your celebration unfolds effortlessly. Learn more about my Complete Wedding Day Experience here.
While you relax and enjoy every precious moment with your family and friends, I quietly work behind the scenes, coordinating with your venue, wedding planner, photographer, videographer, musicians, entertainers, and caterers to keep everything running smoothly and on time.
Your Guests
I welcome your guests, make elegant announcements, guide everyone through the day’s celebrations, organise the receiving line if you wish, introduce your speeches, coordinate the cake cutting, first dance and other special moments, and ensure every transition feels relaxed and unhurried.
Most importantly, I solve the little problems before you ever know they exist. I am one of the very few Professional Lady Toastmasters in the world and a Fellow of the Guild of Professional International Toastmasters. You can be assured I hold the highest professional qualifications to manage your wedding day as your toastmaster.
The result is a wedding day that feels calm, organised and beautifully orchestrated, allowing you and your loved ones to be completely present and simply enjoy every moment.
Having one experienced professional by your side from the first welcome to the final farewell creates a seamless experience for everyone. Your ceremony flows naturally into your celebration, your guests always know what is happening next, and you have the reassurance that someone is quietly looking after every detail.
For couples planning a destination wedding in Cyprus or a luxury celebration in the UK, this continuity is invaluable. It allows you to spend your day making memories rather than watching the clock or worrying about logistics.
Your wedding should never feel like a timetable.
It should feel effortless.
That is exactly what I strive to create.
