Personal, Meaningful Ceremonies Designed Around You.
Frequently Asked Questions About Celebrant Services
What does a celebrant do?
Not every celebrant is professionally qualified — and this can make a real difference to your experience.
As a member of the UK Society of Celebrants, I am fully trained to the highest standards to create and deliver wedding, funeral, and family ceremonies with care, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Choosing a celebrant is about more than finding someone who can write a ceremony. It’s about working with someone who can hold the moment — delivering your ceremony with warmth, dignity, and confidence, while gently guiding your guests and managing anything unexpected on the day.
Your ceremony is one of the most important moments you will experience. Choosing the right celebrant ensures it is delivered exactly as it should be — with meaning, presence, and professionalism.
A professional celebrant creates and delivers personalised ceremonies for life’s most important moments, including weddings, funerals, memorials, and family celebrations.
Unlike traditional services, a celebrant-led ceremony is completely bespoke — written around your story, your values, and your wishes.
Are celebrant weddings legally binding in the UK?
No. Celebrant-led weddings are not legally binding in England. However, in some countries, they can be. I advise speaking to your celebrant for the latest information about your location.
Most couples choose to complete the legal registration separately at a registry office, allowing their celebrant ceremony to be entirely personal, meaningful, and unrestricted. Explore my wedding ceremonies
How much does a celebrant cost?
Celebrant fees vary depending on the type of ceremony, level of experience, and level of personalisation.
Each ceremony includes planning meetings, a fully written script, and professional delivery on the day.
Can we include personal vows and readings?
Absolutely.
Your ceremony is fully customised so that you can include:
- Personal vows
- Readings from family and friends
- Cultural or symbolic elements
- Music and rituals
Everything is designed around you. Find out more about writing your personal vows here
What areas do you cover?
I have two bases: Poole, Dorset, in the UK, and Cyprus. I travel for ceremonies both nationally and internationally.
If you are planning a destination wedding or ceremony, please get in touch to discuss your plans.
Do You Offer Funeral and Celebration of Life Services?
Yes.
I create and deliver Funeral Ceremonies, Celebration of Life Services, and Memorials, working closely with families to ensure a meaningful and respectful tribute.
Can I Plan My Own Funeral Ceremony?
Yes, and this is a very special service I offer.
I work with individuals to write their funeral or Celebration of Life ceremony in advance, ensuring their wishes, story, and voice are clearly expressed.
This can bring comfort, clarity, and reassurance to both you and your loved ones. Please visit Planning Ahead. Read about funeral wishes and planning your funeral here.
What is a Naming Ceremony?
A naming ceremony is a beautiful alternative to a religious christening.
It’s a non-religious celebration to welcome a child into a family, often including promises, readings, and the involvement of family members.
I have also performed naming ceremonies for adoptions and people who choose to change their names later in life.
How far in advance should we book a celebrant?
For weddings, I recommend booking as early as possible — especially for peak dates.
Funerals and memorials can usually be arranged at shorter notice, depending on availability.
How do we get started?
